About
My name is Mariah. I am 15 years old. I was born in San Diego, CA and about 8 years ago I moved to Utah with my family. I have 8 siblings and I am the middle ones in the line. I want to pursue a career as a fashion stylist. My mom and sisters can attest that I have always been a fashion lover since the day I came home. I was always trying to make a statement. In recent years, I've really had to choose whether or not to follow the modesty standards I had been taught or to follow the world's view of fashion and beauty; showing everything I've got and trying to fit the mold.
By following the world's teachings I would find myself feeling insecure of who I am, just following the crowd, getting tons of attention from guys (but attracting the wrong type of guys), and being "living pornography".
By following modesty standards I would find myself feeling confident, having to worry less about "pirahna" guys, displaying my actual character and personality, and giving myself self-respect for the body God has given me.
The whole purpose of this blog is to help other teen girls see that modesty doesn't have to mean homely, out of style, and ugly. It can mean beauty, elegance, youthfulness, and inner light and happiness. That's what modesty is!
The more respect you have for yourself, the more people will repect you.
I can't wait to interact with you and together create modesty as the norm and main priority for teens.
Love,
Mariah
